On April 12, 2014 volunteers willingly offered their hands and feet to help clean up the neighborhood in conjunction with the National Earth Day Great American Clean-Up.
What was this day all about? Cleaning the Spit! How? Here's how';
- Litter was collected along all of the streets and highway accesses
- Electronics were picked up as neighbors placed them on the curb to be recycled
- The Chesapeake Bay beach and Willoughby Bay areas were walked and boated to pick up litter
- Storm drain medallions were added to remind residents that the water will end up in the Bay
